The BMW G 310 GS is the entry-level touring motorcycle from the German motorcycle manufacturer. The G 310 GS is based on the G 310 R but gets few additional features for touring. The BMW G 310 GS is powered by the same 313cc engine that produces 33bhp and 28Nm of torque. The G 310 GS gets long travel suspension, small windscreen and a similar styling as compared to the bigger GS touring machines.

Royal Enfield offers a dual sport model in India as well in the form of the Himalayan. The Royal Enfield Himalayan, although has decent off-road capabilities, is not a full fledged enduro motorcycle, but does manage to tackle difficult terrain. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a new 411cc, single-cylinder oil and air-cooled engine that makes 24.5bhp and 32Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Himalayan also features disc brakes at both ends, along with a 21-inch front wheel, and a 17-inch rear tyre.

The Triumph Tiger XCx is a capable off-roader although it features some ‘luxury’ features such as heated seats and grips, height adjustable windshield, ABS, traction control, adjustable suspension, and mobile charging sockets to tackle long highway trips. The Triumph Tiger is powered by an 800cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine that makes a healthy 94bhp 78.8Nm of torque with the help of a 6-speed gearbox. The Tiger XCx get five riding modes with an additional 'Off-Road Pro' mode.

The BMW R 1200 GS Adventure is made for long rides across continents with the ability to take on any terrain when the tarmac ends. It is essentially a more capable version of the R 1200 GS and is around one inch taller, wider and longer, whereas the ground clearance is 0.5 inches higher too. The BMW R 1200 GS Adventure is powered by a liquid-cooled, 1170 cc, flat-twin DOHC engine with a maximum power output of 123bhp and a peak torque output of 125Nm.

The Versys-X 300 is the entry-level adventure motorcycle in the Kawasaki’s product portfolio. It is also the only 300cc adventure bike in the Indian market. The Versys-X 300 is based on the tubular platform of the Z300. The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is also available with optional accessories such as panniers. The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 draws power from a 296cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 38.4bhp and 27Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike features spoke wheels and braking duties are handled by discs at both the ends with dual-channel ABS.

The Ducati Multistrada Enduro is an adventure touring version of the Multistrada 1200S. The Multistrada Enduro rides on rugged wire spoke wheels with knobbly Pirelli tyres to help off-road with ease. The suspension travel too has been increased. The Ducati Multistrada Enduro is powered by a 1198cc Testastretta DVT L-twin engine, with a maximum power output of 160bhp and a peak torque output of 136Nm. The engine is controlled through ride-by-wire and features switchable rider modes. The entire electronics package has been carried over from the Multistrada 1200S.

The Suzuki V-Strom 1000 is one of the best adventure bikes in the 1000cc segment. The overall design is minimalistic with a large windscreen up front and bare minimum body panels. The V-Strom 1000 offers a good on-road performance as well as decent off-road agility. With the high ground clearance, the bike can handle the rough terrain with utmost ease. The Suzuki V-Strom 1000 is powered by a 1037cc, V-twin engine producing 101bhp and 103Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The adventure motorcycle is equipped with a fully adjustable USD (Upside Down) forks up front and sports a monoshock at the rear.
